ATS Preview Day 3 .... A Little Irish Blessing for you

So here we are at day three of the previews, are you just loving what you are seeing from the DT ladies on the All That Scraps blog- I am sure you are!!

The image I have used today is by Amy Young and this cutie is Penelope... she has a wee Irish Blessing to share with you that is part of the new Spring Logos set and she is in the company of some fine green butterflies from the new Butterfly Border...

Here is also a close up so that you can see the butterflies better... to get this effect on them after cutting them using the Butterfly border cutter, I inked them with Shabby Shutters distress ink and then embossed them with clear embossing powder

I liked the way the butterflies were not all exactly the same using this method. And here is a look at the inside of the card using the Be Happy Sentiment set from February's release.

Here are a few more details of the products that I used, the paper is from Echo Park's This & That Graceful 6x6 pad, flower is from Prima and the rhinestones are Kaiser. As I paper pieced her dress and boots there was not too much coloring to do.So here are the markers that I used:

hair - E33, 23, 25

skin - E000, 00, 01

I used a green Sakura pen for her eyes and the baubles in her hair.

ATS Preview Day Two

Today we are previewing the soon to be released "Spring Has Sprung" set ... be ready to be shopping in the online store on Thursday night and order the ones you want!! This darling set has four images that are super for Easter projects of all kinds .... when I started to think of what I wanted to do with these cuties I decided to do something new for me. I checked around and found some wonderful inspiration at SCS forum and found ideas for making treat bags, I changed it up a little and will be sharing a tutorial in April here on my blog to show you how you can make some thing like this too. And here is what I made....

Now I plan on having some fun making these for my grandsons and also for my day home kids to hold some Easter treats (now of course my grandsons will get something else too) So this sweet little bunny was fun and easy to color up three different ways with copics - W0,2,3 and C0,2,4 and E41, 51,31 and then before adding any other colors take a small scrap of dish cloth and soak it in blender solution and dab all over the bunny to give that furry effect!! I had fun again with the new Butterfly border cutter from C.C. Designs for all the butterflies on these little treat bags. The sentiments are all from the new Spring Logo set that will be released on Friday too. These were so fun to make and I think they will be even more fun to give!!

ATS Prview Day One!!!

Well here we are at day one of the previews for the great stamps that will be released this Thursday night at 10 pm! Be sure to stop by the ATS blog and check out what all the fabulous design team members have for you to see and tease you with the fun products that are coming out!!!

I wanted to give you two views of this card so you could get a better look.... now this little darling is Ima Butterfly. I think she is so ADORABLE!! I wanted her to look like she was running in a spring field of butterflies and that was easy to do with the help of the new Butterfly border cutter that will be available this Friday. I had so much fun with this cutter as you can get a whole line of butterflies like I used on the first row of this card, then I cut some of them to make separate groups of butterflies too. The butterfly sentiment is from the new Spring Logos set that ... yes will be available on Friday too! Other C.C. Design products that I used were the Mushroom border cutter and the Be Happy Sentiment set both released last month. The flower in the second row is cut with the Five point flower cutter from C.C. Designs too.

When I put together how to show off this darling in the best way, here is what I decided to do.I paper pieced her little dress wtih some of the great Easter 6x6 pad from We R Memory Keepers, Cotton Tails. To make her wings sparkle I used Micro Fine glitter after I had colored them with copic markers and I wanted her rubber boots to shine so I covered them with Glossy Accents. Here is a close up of her so that you can see how she looks close up.

I had so much fun making this card and I sure hope that you enjoy it too!!

"Girl Talk" for MFTWSC60

Yeah - I got time this week to play along with the sketch at MFT, the sketches are always such a great starting point....come and play along!! So here is the sketch...

And here is what I did with it and a look at the inside too......

Okay I had fun with this card ..... fun stamp to work with the ALM Girl Talk from MFT - love the big iphone!! And yes I had so much fun with the new Bo Bunny "Serenity" line - love the color combo and all the fun embellishments that go with it. Don't you love her designer iphone case - I want one just like that!!! Okay I used a few of the MFT dienamics on this card.... Decorative Doily, Sweet Stack, Simple Scallop large, Leafy FLourish, and the Polka Dot greeting frame is on the inside. Now I need to tell you what I did on the circle...I cut the patterned circle with a Spellbinder die from the Bo Bunny paper, then I cut the top piece off the Leafy Flourish to add that little bit of flourish to decorate, then I cut some flowers from the rub ons that go with the Bo Bunny paper and I like the look I got with it. To not waste the rest of the Leafy Flourish I added those to the inside of the card!! Hope you like it as I had fun making it for sure!!!

Colored her up with copic markers and carefully cut her out and popped her up on the circle!!

ATS Wednesday Challenge Reminder - "Fancy Folds"

What fun to try something brand new (well for me anyways) - a sidestep card!! I found some great instructions for making this card at Splitcoaststampers!! (click on the link to go right there) The challenge that was put out last week was to make a card with "fancy folds" and I took a quick look and saw there are some great entries already in for the challlenge ...stop by the ATSWednesday Challenge blog and see what the challenge design team has to show you too - WOW!! So get your supplies out and show us what you can do too - we would love to see your entry :)

For my card I used Miss Rosalie with Roses, Be Happy Sentiment set and Sweet November Mushroom Set all from C. C. Designs. (told you the other day that I love this mushroom set!!) The paper is Little Yellow Bicycle - Paradise line. I sat down the other night and colored her and did not write down what colors that I used from my copic box ... was just having fun!! I know I am looking forward to making more sidestep cards in the near future...maybe for Easter...... :)

ATS Review Day - "Hugs to You"

Okay here is another card from the very fun February release at All That Scraps with the fun C.C. Design stamps, and today we are highlighting the designs of Amy Young. This cute little guy is 'Sweet November's shroom'. Don't you just love his mushroom top hat? The tall mushroom beside him and the sentimnet are from the Mushroom set ( I used the smaller mushroom on the inside) - these mushrooms are great for coloring and cutting out to put beside your images.I had so much fun using the mushroom border cutter and the acorns and leaves cutter to add accents to this card! I love that with the mushroom border cutter you can cut off pieces and then add it to your card in different spots as a great embellishment - see it under the image, in the lower right hand corner of the card front and again in the inside of the card :) As this card is for a boy I decided to distress the edges of the paper lots - a different look than neat and cute :) The paper I used is very old MME ...not even sure the line it was from. The sentiment on the inside of the card is from the fun "Be Happy Sentiment" set also released in February. ATS Review Day - Be My Valentine

Today is our first review day at ATS to remind you of all the amazing stamps and cutters that came out at the first of February!! But also a chance for me to say Happy Valentine's Day to all you bloggers, thanks for the love you leave me with the sweet comments!! And also today I got to use the light tent that my wondeful man gave me for my birthday on the weekend - I love him and the light tent is great!!
Okay now for some details on the card... I used Woodland Lucy (so cute) and the Be Happy Sentiment set (so many great sentiments in that set) all from C.C. Designs at ATS (All That Scraps). I decided to really try and use the papers which are from the 6x6 pad from We R Memory Keepers called "Love Struck" for this card and had fun doing it...so it will be a sweet card for someone that I love!! The hearts were all cut with Spellbinder dies.

Wednesday Sketch with MFT

Finally got a chance to play along with the MFT Wednesday sketch - YEAH!! Here is the sketch....

Okay now after all those photos I don't have too much to say .... here are the details on products used. The rose is from MFT Inspired by Flowers 2 and the sentiment on front from Inspired by Flowers 1. The very pretty paper is new from MME, Miss Caroline, "Howdy Doody" line - yes I finally got to use new papers!!! The little flower is from Prima and the pearl ribbon across the banner cut with MFT 1st Place Award Ribbon Dienamic is from Recollections. The sentiment on the inside is from Stamp Barn.

Copic colors for the rose ... I love coloring flowers!!!

Valentine's Card for Mojo Monday

Here is the sketch that the "Mojo" ladies had for us this week.

And here is what I did with it... this one I think is for my wonderful man!!

It is a nice change to not always use my copic markers and do something different. I must tell you that the paper I used is old Basic Grey (Bittersweet) and the "Valentine's stamp ... not even sure what company that is :). I used a few MFT products for the rest of the card which I can tell you about for sure.... the sentiment on the label is from Clearly Sentimentatl About Love set, the labels are cut with Layered Labels and then on both of those I traced around the die with a pencil and cut the shape out to add another layer. The flowers are MFT as well, Flower Trio and the leaves are from the Upsy Daisy set. I added some Kaiser pearls, a flourish stamp and some ribbon and that was that!!

A Bit of Love ....for fun!!

This little darling was made for fun and will be a treat for someone that I love!! Always love to do the inside too and tie it in to the front of the card for fun.

Well I am trying to make time in my week to enter a few of the challenges that are going on when I am not busy making cards for the ATS (All That Scraps) blog where I have the awesome privilege of being on the DT with some very talented ladies :) So I made this card specifically for two challenges:

Crazy 4 Challenges - make a scene
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Hugs and Kisses

This is Woodland Lucy and she is sitting on one of the mushrooms from the Sweet November Mushroom Set. Don't you love the little brown mushrooms, which are cut with the C.C. Cutter, Mushroom Border. The first three products are all from C.C. Designs and you can find them at the online store. (click on the words and go right to them!!) The grass is cut with the MFT die called Fresh Cut Grass and the sentiment is on the Oval Tab from MFT (trimmed to fit). The hearts were cut with a Spellbinder die - hint trace the dies with a pencil and cut that out the shape and then you can frame them with cardstock to make them stand out more!! I learned that trick from one of the MFT ladies and love it!! The papers are some older MME papers called Lime Twist, "Life of the Party" .... I have been so good at using up older papers and I now have the new pads here and can't wait to use them!!!! The sentiment on the front "Hugs & Kisses" is from Spring Sentiments from C.C. Designs and the words on the inside are a wood stamp that I have had for awhile from Craft Smart.
Yes of course I colored with my copic markers:
Skin - E000, 00, 11 / Hair and Shoes - E31, 35, 37, 39 / Dress - R12, 14, 17 / Tights - R00, 02 and YG11, 41 Airbrushed BG000 around the image.

Preview Day 3 for All That Scraps

I hope you have been having as much fun seeing all the cards made by the DT team, as we have had making the cards!! I have so enjoyed combining the different sentimentswith the images. Today I give you a glimpse of how fun the cutters are to use too!! Today's card features the new Mushroom border cutter - love it! The fun stamps that I am showing you today on the front of the card are, Nutter, Mushroom set and Be Happy Sentiments.

Remember I told you that I am trying hard to use paper pads that I have....so I can buy more new ones :) so for this card I used MME Lime Twist "Out of the Blue". Worked great for this card with the little trees on the paper. I paper pieced part of his hat, which is always fun to do!!

Here is the inside of the card where I used the Be Happy Sentiment set and Mushroom Border cutter:

So how did you enjoy all the previews from the DT yesterday - so many fun cards!!! Today we are previewing the great images by Amy Y and there are so many cute ones, it was hard to pcik which one to use first. Be sure to be back again tomorrow as I used a different image with the fun new cutters from ATS!!
Today I am previewing "Bloom" and she is sitting atop the new "Woodland Daisy". Oh and remember I have some fun " candy" for some one who leaves me a comment on one of the preview days ....you could win these stamps - Pixie Lucy, Woodland Mushroom and the Woodland Logo set!!!! Okay ...how fun is she??? I hope you said "lots" as I sure think she is!! I love how so many of the products in the release this month all work together in so many fun ways! So here is a look at the inside of the card and I used one of the stamps from the new "Woodland Logo set" to add the finishing touches to the card.

Sneak Peak - Day 1

Yeah it is the first day of sneak peaks for what is coming in February!! I have had so much fun creating for these previews :)......so let's start off with "Pixie Lucy". Oh I have something exciting to give away after these three preview days are done....three stamps to someone who leaves me some love during this time. The three stamps are Pixie Lucy (this cutie), Woodland Mushroom (great for a cutie to sit on) and the awesome Woodland Logo set (used one from this set on the inside of this card). I think she is just too cute!! I have perched her on top of the Swiss Field Fence and surrounded her with butterflies that I cut with C.C. Butterflies and a variety of flowers and some Kaiser pearls. The sentiment which is perfect for this is from a new set from Amy R called Be Happy Sentiments and will also be available with new February products at All That Scraps- love the size of these stamps and so many great sayings for cards!!The paper I used is from We R Memory Keepers, "Love Struck" (which is in stock at ATS) . The border is cut with a Martha Stewart punch.

January Review Day - "For You"

Today is "review day" at All That Scraps Blog, a chance to show you some fun ideas with the great stamps that came out in January... so be sure to stop by the blog and see all the fun eye candy that the DT members have to show you today!! I chose to use Sweet November Fairwee - Josie's Cupcake, I think she is so cute and you can do so many different things to decorate the cupcake she is perched on. I chose to add Stickles to the icing to give it some bling and only lightly colored it with copics. The sentiment on the tag (cut from MFT Fishtail banner die) is from the Beach Sentiment set by Amy R at All That Scraps. I also used the Scallop Ribbon die from MFT and the the Sweet Stack die from MFT too. The paper is the Echo Park - Yours Truly line and there are some in stock at ATS!! For the inside of my card I used two stamps from ATS, the Party Logos and Birthday Sentiments - love having good sentiment stamps to use on my cards!! Some bling and some ribbon were added to make it fun!! This card was a more simple design....but I can hardly wait for the January 31st to start showing you the previews for the February release .......so FUN!!!!

Wednesday Challenge at All That Scraps - "Blue, Brown and Tan"

You all know that some times there are cards that you make that you are a bit extra pleased with..... can I share with you that this is one of those for me? Now don't get me wrong I do like making "cutesy" cards but I also like cards with some distressing and a bit of shabby chic to them .. this is one of those for the great color challenge from Lesa at All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge. Hey ... come on over and play with us so we can see your creative beauties!! (also be sure to check to see what the other girls have made on the blog too!!)
For this card I used Sweet November Tess - she is so adorable!! The papers I used are from MME - Paris & Co line and also some Prima that I had from the Madeline collection.... remember I am working hard to use up paper pads that I have before all the new ones come out!! The flourish is the mini flourish die from Tim Holtz and the little "dream" tag is his too. The flowers are Prima and sprayed with Suede Glimmer Mist. On the inside of the card the sentiment is from MFT called Clearly Sentimental about Friendship.
And of course ....my copic markers were used and here are the colors:
Hair - YR30, 31, Y21 and E33
Skin - E50, 51, 21 and RV32
Coat - B52, 12, 02
Hat and Boots - E42, 43, 44

Daphne's Balloon - C.C. Design Review Day

Here is another card with the Sweet November Fairwee - Daphne's Balloon from C.C. Designs. This time I decided to paper piece the balloons and then color the rest of the image with copic markers. I have been determined to use up paper pads that I have ....so this card I used more papers from the MME, Lime Twist, Happy Go Lucky line. (I figure if I use up some then I can justify buying more when CHA is done and all the new products come in to All That Scraps.) I love using dies to cut things to add to my cards and on this one I used four different ones from MFT, Christine carries many of the MFT dies at All That Scraps - look under the stamps she carries from MFT. The ones I used are, Open Scallop Edge, Flower Trio, Flat Bottom Clouds and Vintage Flourish. (If you can't find them at All That Scraps check the MFT store) The sentiment on the outside is from Birthday sentiments by C.C. Designs and the inside is from the new Party Logo set. I hope you like this and get some ideas for your own wonderful cards!!!

A little "Sweet November" goodness in January...

And here is the inside of the card too.

Just a little card to show again one of the new stamsp from C.C. Designs this month. This cutie is one of the Sweet November Fairwee's called Daphne's Balloon. I teamed her up with some older paper from MME's Lime Twist line, Happy Go Lucky. ( I love their 6x6 pads). The sentiment is from C.C. Designs called Spring Sentiments. Love being able to add little sayings to my cards :) I used a couple of dies, for the flowers one from MFT, Flower Trio, Simple Scallop Medium border and the leaves are C.C. Cutters, Leaves (sold out but will be back). The crystals, which I love are from Prima - perfect color for this paper!! On the inside I just stamped the balloons to carry the theme to the inside of card.
Copic colors used were: dress - G20, YG93, face - E50, 51, 21. R22 (cheek), balloon - BG10, 11, 32, balloon - RV32, 34, hair - E21, 23, 25, backround - BG0000 colored softly for cloud effect.

January Release Day 3

What a fun day!! My first day to do a preview as part of the design team at All That Scraps for the great new release that is available tomorrow at All That Scraps .... so make sure you have checked out all the previews the last few days by the talented design team on All That Scraps Blog and be ready to place your orders!!
I am previewing one of the so cute stamps designed by our very own Amy Young, this cutie is called Josie's Cupcake and I teamed her up with one of the very fun stamps from The Party Logo set!! The paper I used is from the Bo Bunny collection called Sweet Tooth. I used the Decorative Doily from MFT to place my image on and a Spellbinder die for the sentiment.. I added some Stickles to the sprinkles on the icing but they don't show up well in the photo. I stamped her again for the inside of the card and used another of the fun stamps from the Party Logo set.

RV0000 - to airbrush around the image

E50, 51, 21 - skin
E41, 43, 44 - hair and part of cupcake

All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes

Well Happy New Years to you all ...letting you know you are loved with a Valentine's card to start the year with!! I have exctitng news to share .... just around Christmas time I was asked to move from the challenge team with All That Scraps to the design team for them - YAHOO!!! A goal that was set for last year was met before the year ended and I am so grateful for the chance to be on a design team and for a company that I have been buying stamps from since I got into coloring with copic markers! This month I will not be able to put up as many new images as I did not get to order very many in time for this month.. but I will be putting up cards done in different ways with what I have for sure!! (let me tell you I have lots to play with for February already though!!!!)
Okay the challenge to start off the year is "Anything Goes" so get out your fun stamps and show us what you can do - we love to see your cards!! I used one of the December stamps called Swiss Birgitta Blowing Hearts - she is so cute!! The paper is from Echo Park called Yours Truly and yes it is in stock at All That Scraps - just click on the words and go right to where you can order it :). I used the Hearts a Plenty die from MFT and an old heart punch that I have from Marvy. I used Spellbinder dies to mount my image. The inside die is also from MFT called Clearly Sentimental label.

All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge - A Treat Holder

Something fun to give anyone who loves coffee!! A gift card holder in the shape of a mug (made something like this years ago in a class I took and have loved this idea since then!!). The paper is from Little Yellow Bicycle, Wonder Wishes is the name of the line. I colored her with my copics naturally. Her hair is E41, 42, 43, 44. Skin is E50, 51, 21 and R05 for her rosy cheeks. Her coat is YG61 and 63. Her hat is paper pieced and I added some YG91 to give some shape to her hat. I also added some flocking to her hat and her colllar on her coat. Her boots are E42 and 43. The cute image is from C.C. Designs and she is Sweet November Tess - I think she is adorable and is good for all winter long!!!

All That Scraps Wednesday - "Thankful"

Well it has been a very busy few days around here..... but I did sneak in my card for this week with All That Scraps. The theme this week was "giving thanks", well since we had our Thanksgiving already here in Canada, I looked until I could find the right sentiments with C.C. Designs, Amy R sentiments so that I could make a Christmas/winter card to give to a friend and let her know that I am thankful for her. A bit of a twist but worked for me and hope it works for you too!!

The paper I used is from Bo Bunny's Snowfall line and it was so fun to work with!! Love those 6x6 pads for cards :)

The image is Swiss Pixie Through the Night from C.C. Designs, I paper pieced her hooded coat and then colored her with copics. The sentiment on the outside of card is Amy R Christmas Card Greetings sentiment and the inside is Amy R Friends sentiments. I used the MFT dog tag die-namic for the sentiment on the outside and a Spellbinder die for the inside.

.....anyways back to one of the things keeping me very busy a new 8 week old rescue puppy that we adopted ..... LOVE HIM!!!! Bye for now...................

The challenge this time is "Anything Goes ....with a birthday theme" so I colored up this cutie, Spring Kiki La Rue and added the sentiment from C.C. Designs, Birthday Sentiments set. A few more details for my card .... I used a few different die-namics that are made by My Favorite Things and Christine carries them in her on-line store at All That Scraps, Leafy Flourish, Oval Decorative Doily and Upsy Daisy Flower. The papers that I used were a mixture of MME paper pads that I had pieces of - great to use all the pieces!!!
Copic colors used were: RV29, 32, 34 and BG11, 13, 15, 18 and E21, 50, 51 and R05 and Y23 and YR21, 24, 31.

MFT Guest Designer Challenge - "Bling it On"

Another fun "guest designer" challenge from one of my most favorite companies, My Favorite Things (loving known by card makers and scrapbookers and crafters as MFT for short if you have not been to their web site as soon as you have finished here you need to check it out!!) Every month there is a contest on their forum at Splitcoast stampers for some very fortunate lady to join Kim's awesome design team at MFT for a month and play along with them AND you also receive $200 in new products!!!!! (do I want to win some day?...... are you kidding of course I want to win!!) But you really should also hop over to Splitcoast stamper's and see all the amazing entries that come in - WOW!!! The challenge this month is to "bling it on" - now almost every girl likes bling of some kind so that is a very fun challenge to give us!

I decided to use this challenge to make a birthday card for my mom, as her birthday is coming up real soon, I wanted the card to have some fun bling and also be classy and feminine for her as she is a special lady!! I like decorating the inside too and love using the stamp from the outside on the inside as well, so this time I stamped with distress ink and then used clear embossing powder so help it stand out.Also added some bling inside the card too!! For this card the paper that I used is from Melissa Frances and also Fancy Pants. I had so much fun using the die-namics on this card, on the front I layered up a couple of the borders to make the bottom edge and then added a row of mini pearls from my stash. On the side of the card I added some pearl flourishes from Kaiser craft and also a few of their great rhinestones on the butterflies and in the corners. Don't you just love that oval doily behind the flower - one of the newer ones :) For the flower I stamped it twice and cut it out to give the flower more depth at the center.

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club - Sketch #42

Here is the sketch for this week.

See her standing in the snow - must be here in Calgary in the winter!! And did you see her fuzzy boots and hat? (Cozy..hmmmm)

Oh I am so excited about using the sketches to get Christmas cards going!! Very fun with this sketch to choose the papers and figure out which paper should go where... :) So this little cutie is called "Flurry of Love" from MFT - I like her wind blown hair!! Shocking as this week I only used two MFT die-namics on my card, Snowflake Trio and then inside I used Simple Scallop Medium border. The paper is a mixture of Echo Park, Season's Greetings and jillibean soup, Christmas eve Chowder. I colored her up with copics and paper pieced her coat. I added white Fun Flock to her boots and hat to make them fuzzy and then used Stickles for the falling snow and White Flower Soft for the snow she is standing in. Added a bow and some Prima crystals and that is it.

Wednesday Eye Candy for All That Scraps

Wanted you to be able to see her glittery wings - I think they are fun!!

Okay this week at All That Scraps it is a sketch to play with - come and check it out and see what the other girls on the team have made too!!

I used the new Swiss Pixie Baby Jesus and Angel stamp from C.C. Designs - so cute!! I used the Cool Highlight ultra fine glitter from Glitter Ritz on her wings and a couple dots on her halo too.The circle behind her is cut with the High Tea Doily from My Favorite Things. I colored her up with my copic markers using:

E40, 42, 43, 44 for her hair and manger, her dress is BG70, 10, 32 and her face is E50, 51, 21 and RV32 for her cheeks, band on her dress is RV32, 34. I did airbrush around her with RV000 but as I brightened up the photo that does not show as much. The sentiment on the inside of the card is an AmyR Christmas card greeting set from C.C. Designs for All That Scraps. ( I do love how these sentiments stamp so clear)

Okay I am slipping this one into the MFT Wednesday stamp club for sketch #41 as I needed a couple of baby cards for ladies at our church and decided to use the sketch for one more card this week . And yes the image below is the inside of this card.

Okay I had to make another one with a "blue theme" and this was fun too!!! Yes some of the very same awesome MFT products for this one - I did add two MFT dienamics, Dog Tag and Dainty Doliy Edge. MFT Wednesday Stamp Club - Sketch #41

Some days there is a card that is extra fun to make... yes this was one of those cards!!! Made this for the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club, Sketch #41 ... you should come play along too. I used the very fun Homespun Birdhouse dienamic from MFT for this card and what fun it was!! I used liquid applique to make the snow on the birdhouse and I like how it turned out :) Along the layer of paper under the image I used the Notebook edge dienamic (also from MFT) and then used the negative piece that was left over as it reminded me of Christmas lights. The snowflakes were also cut with a MFT dienamic called Snowflake :) The great paper is from Cosmo Cricket line called "Dear Mr. Claus" - the 6x6 pad. The sentimnet on outside is from the Homespun Birdhouse set and the inside sentiment is an old wood stamp I have from Paper Inspirations.

Yeah I have my first Christmas card done!!!!

All That Scraps Wednesday Eye Candy - Breast Cancer Awareness... so something pink!!

I am sure that each of us have known someone who has been affected by breast cancer. This month especially we want to let women know that they are not alone as they face this, so there are many online sites that are doing what they can to lend their support to this cause and All That Scraps is one of those. So with that in mind the card this week is to include "pink" and "Coffee Birgitta" from C.C. Designs at All That Scraps definitely is wearing lots of pink for this card :) The paper is from My Minds Eye (an older collection), the flowers are Prima and the ric rac is cut with a C.C. Design die. I used a Spellbinder die for the scalloped circle behind the image. Did you see the brown metal leaves..... Tim Holtz! And if you want to know about the sentiment and also the "breast cancer" ribbon on her coffee cup .... MFT, Who's that Girl - Choose Hope stamp set. I thought those just added to this simple card (it was our Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, so I was a bit busy the last few days)
Copic markers used: R20, 21, 22 and E40, 42, 43, 44 and E21, 50, 51, airbrushed around her with R01.

Be aware and encourage someone you know that is fighting Breast Cancer.

Always fun to play along with the MFT Wednesday sketches!! Also as this month is Breast Cancer Awareness month there are challenges daily at Splitcoaststampers on the Hope You Can Cling to forum (just click on this link and you will be there). And you can make cards and send them and they will be used to help encourage women fighting breast cancer - great cause!! So I decided to use my new MFT Who's That Girl stamp set called "Choose Hope" to make a card for the sketch and also to be sent with some other cards I hope to do so that it can be used to encourage someone. The paper I used is from Authentique called "Uncommon" and I used a few of the MFT die-namics too .... Sweet Stack, Layered Labels, Scallop Ribbon and Open Scallop Doily - these dies are so slick!!!! Don't you just have to love an image that is holding a coffee?? This little cutie is Latte Kiki la Rue from C.C. Designs and I think she is adorable :) The paper I used is from MME and is their Stella Rose Hattie line - I think this is still one of my favs from them and you can get other great lines form them at All That Scraps online store (but this one is older ...)
The dies that I used for this card are : Spellbinders oval and scalloped oval
MFT - leafy flourish, simple scallop medium and flower trio

MFT Guest Designer Challenge Entry

Okay here is the photo of the whole set ... getting a good photo was a challenge in itself!! :) The challenge from one of my most fav companies MFT was to make a "perfect package" (you can read all about on the MFT blog - come and play too)- I have a niece who is soon having a baby, so this is to treat her and remind her she has to take care of herself too!! A bag to put bath goodies in, a bookmark to remind her to take time to relax and read and of course a card that may hold another treat for her... The frame is to hold a photo of baby and go in his room :)

And of course the card. The paper is from DCWV "All About Boys' stack - just what I needed!!
I used all the following MFT stamps: PI - Lather Rinse repeat, Bedtime Story and Spa Day, WTG Girls Rule and My How You've Grown, Clearly Sentimental About Babies and First Class Friend. (and you can find them all at the most awesome online store - just click on the words in blue and go right there) :)
The MFT die-namics that I used were: Open Scallop Doily, Simple Scallop medium, Scallop Ribbon, Catch a Wave, Fancy Flourish, File Tab, Ticket Tab, Tag You're It, First Class Friend and Prima Dona Petals. And yes click on those blue words and go find the slickest die-namics there are - they cut beautifully and there are always new ones coming out...... :)

If you have not looked at their blog - hop on over there to the MFT blog as the design team over there always inspires me and challenges me .... and I have met some of them and they are the greatest ladies!!! And they just happen to be showing the "teasers" for what is coming out on October 4th!

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club - Sketch 39

A closer look for you :)

I had fun with this - had a great sketch to work with, fab stamps from a few different MFT sets and love those MFT die-namics and then there was the beautiful paper from Authentique "Uncommon" line add some fun inks and embossing powder and you get FUN!!
Here are the details I cut the frame for the front sentiment with the MFT First Class Friend die and then embossed it with the wood grain folder and sanded it after that (I used Tim Holtz co-ordination paper). For the sentiment I first stamped the script from the MFT First Class friend stamp set with Pumice stone distress ink, then stamped the Happy Birthday from the MFT More Essentail sentiment set with black Versafine and embossed it with clear embossing powder, next I stamped the rose from the Inspired by Flowers 2 set from MFT with Worn Lipstick distress ink and also embossed that with clear embossing powder. I then added a couple more stamps from the First Class Friend set for some interest. The flourish is a MFT die called "fancy flourish" (love this die!). I used the MFT rolled rose and made the flower from felt - finally got one of these done right :) I also used the MFT Simply scallop medium for the border that has the pretty pearls from Michael's Recollection line on it. The lacy ribbon was picked up somewhere....????
On the inside of the card I used a sentiment from the MFT Inspired by Flowers first set and then stamped the rose again to tie it together. I used the leafy flourish from MFT on the inside of the card.

It Takes Two - All That Scraps Wednesday Eye Candy

Good Wednesday to all of you!!! It was a challenge to me to find two characters that I wanted to put together on a card for "It Takes Two" ... but was happy with these two and I was inspired to make this by my 19 year old son and a very good female friend of his :)!!
The girl is Sugarplums Springtime Emma and the boy is also from C.C.Designs but I could not track down his official stamp name ... sorry. The paper is new Cosmo Cricket called Clementine - very fun paper pad!!
I used the "flat bottom clouds' die from MFT and the flourishes were cut with an old EK Success punch that i had around. Had fun coloring them up with copic markers and paper pieced their shirts :)

Okay I needed a baby card so I thought ..."why not use the same sketch and make another card??"Made good sense to me so one more with the sketch turned sideways and the embellishment moved to the another corner... The card making is an awesome distraction right now - very glad to have this craft to play with!!

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Challenge #38

Good morning to you all or whatever part of the day it is for you - hope it is good!! I had fun making this little card for someone in my family for Thanksgivng ....coming up soon for us Canadians :) I love this little MFT Pure Innocence girl with her big pumpkin!! I colored her up with copics and paper pieced her little dress with paper from We R Memory Keepers, Autumn Splendor line. I used the MFT die Layered Labels for the sentiment and another MFT die, Solid bracket border just behind the brown cardstock strip under the sentiment. The leaves were cut with an older Cuttlebu leave die that I am so glad that I kept around - the leaves were fun to make, after cutting them I ran them through my wood grain embossing folder and then inked them up with distress inks to give them the good fall colors!! (I like the way they turned out...) A peek at the inside too :)

Some Eye Candy for All That Scraps

Hello bloggers!! This week at All That Scraps we just want to give you some fun eye candy ideas - the theme was to use a banner of some kind on your card, so I decided to use the "First Place ribbon" die from MFT to create a banner for my sentiment to go onto. This cute adorable little boy is C.C. Designs Swiss Pixie Sunflower Hansel and you can find him at the online store for All That Scraps - I think he is so cute!!! I paper pieced his shirt and hat with paper from Bo Bunny from their Forever Fall Collection - very pretty paper and I love the colors they used for this set!! The sentiment is from an older Hero Arts set that I had. I used my spellbinders for the shapes behind him and ran the turquoise through my cuttlebug to emboss it and then went over it with distress inks. The leaves were cut with some cuttlebug dies that I have had for awhile and then emobssed to give some texture. And yes of course my copics came out to color this little guy!! Hope you enjoy the card - gave you a peek at the inside too!!

Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch 37

Well this card was fun or a few reasons ...one for one of my fav challenges the MFT Wednesday Stamp club sketch and I am taking the great on line class called Inspirtation Showcase by Jennifer McGuire that I signed up for and I got to use a few of the techniques from day 1 on this card!! For the bodice form at front of card I used the "traditional resist technique" and I used Versamark ink and Tim Holtz distress ink (Aged Mahoganny), the stamp and the die for the sewing form are from MFT "Sew Nifty" set. Then for the two little measuring tapes I used the "quick ink colouring tehcnique" - for this I stamped with black Versafine ink and then emobossed with clear embossing powder and then used distess inks to color them. For the tan piece behind the sewing bodice I used the "trapped embossed resist technique" - in this method I stamped with Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder and then added the distess ink over top and the embossed image resists the ink!! WOW - relearning things I knew and learning some new ideas too!! Fun and a good personal challenge to do it and try to figure out how I can make what I am learning apply to a card right away - trying to make good use of my time!!! Love this paper line from My Minds Eye called Lost and Found - Blush!!! Thought it was perfect for this card!! I also used a few other die-namics from MFT, file tab, scalloped ribbon and fancy flourish. Hope you enjoy!!! If you ever get a chance on line to take a course from Jennifer McGuire - do it!!! (this course is now going so watch for a new one sometime!!)

Well fall is in the air around here, especially in the evening you can feel the change ....so a fall challenge at All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge. I used Swiss Pixie Birgitta with her pretty sunflower for this card. I colored her with copics as follows:
Hair and boots and dress trim- C1,3,6
Skin - E30, 51, 11 and R05 for cheeks
Dress - Y21, 32, 26
Flower - Y35, 17, 38
Flower Center- E31, 33, 35
Leaf - YG91, 93, 95
I mounted her on a circle and then cut the scallop circle with MFT die-namic, Open Scallop Doilly. For the sentiment on the front I used the First Place Award die-namic and inisde sentiment is the Polka Dot Greeting frame die-namic. I also used the scalloped scallop edge die-namic too.... okay I like these die-namics and they are available at the All That Scraps online store. The paper I used is from Authentique Blissful collection and yes the great papers are available at the All That Scraps store too!!!

Wednesday Stamp Club - Sketch 36

Yeah - finally after a four week absence I can play in the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club again!! Been a busy time of being in Saskatoon while my daughter and her hubby did some MAJOR renos in the house, my hubby painted among other things and my job to help do meals on BBQ anfd best job of all play with my three grandsons!! Then got home and a couple of hospital times - one with my hubby and he is fine!!! And then my dad's wife had a stroke and she passed away peacefully last night .....

Anyways I am back and had fun today making this card for my stepson's birthday!! The sentiments are from More Essential Sentiments from MFT. I used three MFT die-namics, Well Worn Greeting for the sentiment, leafy flourish and Pretty Posies - love their dies!!! Below is close up of the flowers - I cut them out and dipped them in water and then scrunched them up by hand, put a brad in the center and shaped the petals and sprayed them with glimmer mist and let dry. I learned this from a friend last week and love the effect you get. I think it is kind of a masculine type flower :)

Yes it is amazing there were no copic markers used on this card!!! Good to be back and share with you.

All That Scraps Challenge

Well this is a very happy day for me ..... as this is my first post as part of the Challenge Team Design Members for All That Scraps !!! One of my fav online stores and I get to be part of their wonderful team!

This little cutie who is Swiss Pixie Camera Birgitta has been colored with copics and then matched up with some great Bo Bunny paper from the Sweet Tooth collection. I used my oval scalloped die from Spellbinders to mount her on. The flower is a MFT die called Upsy Daisy and the film strip is also an MFT die called mini film strip - you can get these great dies and the paper from All That Scraps and so many other awesome products too - check them out!! One More for the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch

I remember when I first saw this Flopsey on the MFT blog and it was cold and wet here in Calgary and I was longing for summer warm days... well it was wet again today but has been sunny and will be again tomorrow!! Anyways one more for the Wednesday Stamp Club sketch this week - when I thought about the sketch I knew I had to try and get one in with Flopsey too! So I did rotate the sketch but other than that all the same elements :) I did color him with my copics and then dabbed him with a cloth with blender solution as none of the bunnies I see around here are smooth - they are furry and kind of blotchy. I had such fun airbrushing the sky using clouds as masks!! Come on by My Gallery at Splitcoast Stampers and read the details on which stamp set, etc ....... This card was just fun to put together!!

Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch 28

Here is what I came up with (I do have another idea or two ...will see if I get to them). And following is the inside of the card for you to see too.

I really enjoy working with these sketches each week... already planning how I can take some things with me in August when we are away for a few weeks so that I can still play along!!! The stamp set I used is an older one from MFT, from the WHo's That Girl line and it is called 'Coffee? Tea?' The paper is from jllibean soup and the line is Dutch Mustard Soup ( I know kind of a strange name - but love the paper!!) I paper pieced her dress and colored the rest with copic markers (of course). I cut the flowers with the Perfect posies

A close up of the coloring for the flower (scary to show you a close up - wanted you to see how I tried to give the flower depth. Also wanted you to see the cute Prima vintage trinket on the tag :) And the next photo is of the inside of the card.

So for this card I used the rose from the MFT stamp set Inspired by Flowers 2 and the sentiments from Inspired by Flowers ( the first one they did). I colored with copics of course and the colors that I used were:
E0000, 00, 01 and 04, YG91, 93 and 95 and I softened up the areas where the light was more direct coming from the top left with the blender pen. I then sponged Tim Holtz distress ink, tattered rose around the image and on the sentiment tag too. I used the Spellbinders scalloped ovals and the plain ovals for the shapes. The border is cut with MFT die-namics "dainty lace border". The trinket is from Prima and the pearls are Kaiser craft. The paper for this card is from K&Company called Julianne. The shapes for the sentiment inside the card are cut with MFT die-namics - love their die-namics for sure!!

"Add a Touch of Texture" Challenge

This card is for the MFT guest designer challenge for July and the challenge is to "add a touch of texture" to your stamped creation. I had just got the Pretty Pocket set in the mail and the Inspired by Flowers sets..... so a bit of combining stamp sets and many die-namics this is what I came up with. I cut the pocket with the die-namic that comes with the stamp set using Tim Holtz co-ordinations paper and then embossed it with a cuttlebug folder and sanded it to get the "jean" pocket look (texture). The daisy is made of felt (texture) and has a pearl center. The ribbon I picked up in Victoria and it has lots of "texture" too. The butterflies have rhinestones for their bodies - "texture" of a different kind.... Anyways after I made a huge mess in my room making this card I was kind of happy with the end result and hope you like it too :)

Love this Pure Innocence girl - stamp is called My Umbrella from MFT. I also used a few of their die-namics, the decorative Doily, ribbon border, rolled daisy and leaves from Upsy Daisy. I glossy accents on the rain drops and for the puddle but hard to see in the photo :(

I sure do enjoy the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club the sketches are always great and it is good motivation to get cards made that I need to give!! This one is for my mother-in-law's birthday and she loves butterflies!! When I saw this stamp set I knew that I had to have it - it is called Inspired by Butterflies from MFT, I have used this set a few times already and only had it for a month or so. I stamped it right on the pattern paper from Graphic 45 with Tim Holtz distress ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. The pearls are from Kaiser craft - I love their flourish sets and you can get them at Scrapbooker's Paradise. The paper is all from Graphic 45 - Romantique collection and Baby and Bride collection. The shapes are cut with MFT die-namics - love these!!!!! If you have not tried these yet - you need to and they have some awesome shapes!! So here is what I did with the sketch - the stamp is MFT Pure Innocence - I Get a Kick Out of You ... the rest of the sentiment is on the inside of my card. The paper is from My Mind's Eye, part of the Lime Twist line. The scallop border is the large scallop from MFT - these cut so nicely!! I paper pieced her shirt and colored the rest with my copics of course. Hope you enjoy the card and can use the idea sometime.

Wednesday Sketch Challenge at My Favorite Things - such fun!!

This is the sketch you had to follow.

This is the first card which I have shown you a close up and the inside of the card too. This is using Prima paper and the stamp is from My Favorite Things called Inspired by Butterflies. This is for our daughter and son-in-law's anniversary. The die-namics are all from My Favorite Things.

It is also our son and daughter-in-laws anniversary so this one is for them!! Stamp is Inspired by Love from My Favorite Things. This is also Prima paper. MFT die-namics and a Spellbinder die too.

And it was just our son's girlfriend's grad this week and she is such a sweetheart and I wanted to make a special card for her!! I used a Pure Innocence stamp from My Favorite Things and paper pieced her gown and hat ... the gown was tricky!!! The paper is from My Mind's Eye and I used a MFT die-namic for the ribbon strip and a Spellbinder die. And yes she is colored with my copics!

All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge - "Use Felt"

Oh fun another challenge to do on this rainy cool day here in Calgary .... so here is the darling "Pure Innocence" girl doing what I wish I was doing ... watering my flowers in the garden ... oh they have enough water right now... but I would like to be outside in the sun :)
Anyways this challenge from the ladies at All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge is to use some of the felt that you have. I had just got some felt from MFT and so this was a great way to make me use it for the clouds and the flower leaves (both cut with MFT die-namics). You can purchase this cute stamp from All That Scraps online store and the die-namics too - all under My Favorite Things in the stamping area of the store. The papers I used are from My Mind's Eye new sets, this one is from "Life of the Party" - you can get these from All That Scraps too!! I colored her with copics and used Sakura pens for the dots on her dress, flower center, hair clips and the heart barette. I added Glossy Accents to the water drops from her watering can and also to buckles on her shoes. The sentiment is from C.C. Designs.... one of the many sentiment sets that I own.

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge

Okay I see there are a few changes to the "blogger" process and my images are in opposite order - oh well!! There is a great sketch on the MFT blog site that you should check out if you have not seen it and this was made for that challenge. I decided to go very vintage looking this time around and that was a fun change although I do blow up my work area while I do that :). This is a great stamp and die-namic set from MFT that I have been excited to use. I also used a few Tim Holtz embellishments and his great distress inks too!! The paper is from an old K & Company 6x6 pad that I have had around.
This card was made for my husband who is really "just my type" and it is to let him know that he is loved and I appreciate that he encourages me in this craft so much!! I am a lucky lady for sure!!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

This was fun - the challenge from Penny Black was "fussy and fancy" and how perfect is that with a few nieces that I am proud of and can always find a reason to give them a card :) The papers are from Echo Park, "Summer Days' collection, except the pink stripe is from Bo Bunny. The flowers and the scallopped strip are all made with MFT die-namics - love using those!! The image is from Penny Black of course and is called "about town". A few rhinestones, swirls, ribbon and glossy accents all add the finishing touches ....and oh yes colored with my copics!! Thanks for the fun challenge ladies!!!

TGF - Mystery Monday Challenge

Got to love challenges ... they get your creative ideas going, they can make you think of new ways to do things and you get cards made that you need to give to family and friends!! This was a fun challenge and you should go over to the TGF Farm Fresh Challenge blog and check out the Mystery Monday challenge ... this one you could "case the card or you use it as inspiration". I decided to case it and change it up just a little :) The stamp is from the Hats Off Anya set, paper is from My Mind's Eye - Stella Rose set, butterflies are an old EK Success punch and the flowers are from MFT. Oh in case you don't already know I used my copic markers to color the image.

MFT Wednesday Sketch

Hello there fellow bloggers and blog followers - hope you are having a good day and "being good to yourself" as the sentiment on this card says!! I am enjoying taking part in the sketches from MFT and today was fun as I had just got this stamp and also a few new die-namics from MFT too - yeah!!!! The paper I used is from MY Mind's Eye and is just about the end of one of my 6x6 pads (love those) - this one was Stella Rose. The die-namics that I used from MFT are upsie daisies, butterflies and open scallop border - such fun!!! I stamped and embossed the sentiment so that it stands out and it is a good reminder to all of us :) I paper pieced her dress and did as my friend Sherrie (good friend and awesome copic teacher, her blog always has good hints) says and did color some on the pattern paper so that it does look like the light hits the dress too. I added the close up so that you can see the little antenae on the little butterfly :) Also used some stickles, glitter pens and rhinestones for some bling!!

Copics used are: BG0000, 000, 72, 75 and E21, 51, 53 and E42 for the floor which I then ran the wide end of my blender pen across to give the hardwood floor look.

All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge - Paper Piecing

Thank you ladies at All That Scraps for giving me a good reason to pull this new stamp out of it's package as I knew as soon as I read the challenge that this was the right stamp for this challenge!! The stamp from C.C. Design is called Rainy Day - Lilliput, the sentiments are from C.C. Designs too. Paper is from My Mind's Eye - Stella Rose collection. Flowers are from Prima and the flourishes are an old punch that I have from EK Success. I did add some Glossy Accents from Ranger to the puddle and the rain drops too.
Copic colors used: E50, 51, 53 and BG10, 11, 70, 72 and Y21, 23, 26, 28 and R22.
Very fun paper piecing her umbrella, boots and her cuff on her coat :)

Wednesday Stamp Club

Well this was a good challenge as it did challenge me - it was a sketch and they had used a
die-namic that I am waiting for when my order arrives....so out came my cricut and on the Wild Card cartridge I found something similar for the banner and then small cirlces to cut out and then barely showing around the cirlces I used a flower die-namic from My Favorite Things to have a bit of a scallop behind the circles!! The stamp is from MFT and is called My How You've Grown - great for new baby cards, which I make for our church community. The paper is a pad from K and Company. I paper pieced her shirt and colored the rest of the image with .................... my Copics of course!!! Now to see if I can get this to Splitcoast and into the challenge :)

7 Kids Challenge - "Circles"

Fun Challenge - thinking of all the ways I could add "circles" to this card!! If you haven't taken the time you need to check out the cards that the Design Team has done over at the 7 Kids College Fund Blog - always inspiring!! The papers that I used are from "the girls paperie" from the kitch line - so soft and pretty. The flowers are one of the great dies from MFT, circle shape for image is a Spellbinder die and the sentiment is from Lily of the Valley and of course the great "Anya" image is one from The Greeting Farm bought at the 7 Kids College Fund online store!! This image is from a set called "Hats Off Anya" - I like these girls alot!! She is sitting on a bench from C.C. Design stamps - I colored her then cut her out and popped her up to give some dimension to the image.
Copic colors used are: B32, 34, 91 and R20, 21, 24 and YG61, 63 and E31, 34, 50, 51, 53, 55, 57

7 Kids Challenge - April Showers or May Flowers

Yes it feels like spring here today - I can even wear my sandals and my feet are not freezing!! YAHOO!
So a very fun challenge from the ladies at 7 Kids College Fund Blog - to make a card with either the theme of April Showers or May Flowers. Okay so good to see the sun - I went with May flowers with this cute girl from Magnolia, which I got from the 7 Kids College Fund store on line!!

The paper is from Kaiser craft, flowers and bling from Prima. I used one of the Spellbinder dies to cut the paper flowers - love that die and also for the scalloped circle behind the image.

Of course I coloured with my Copics and this time I had just sat down and coloured for fun and did not write down which colours I used .... oops!! I thought this was a fun springtime card and hope you enjoy it too!!

Loved the sketch that Papertake Weekly had for the challenge this week, and yes it is finally feeling like spring may come - so thanks to Fussy and Fancy Friday for the "spring inspired" challenge. So with those two challenges in mind this card happened, I included a close up so you could maybe see the Stickles on her dress and on the butterfly wings, but also to give you a close up of the coloring and the flowers and butterflies on the side :)

The pattern paper is from My Mind's Eye, the Stella Rose collection. Flowers are from Prima - love flowers!! I think this butterfly punch from Martha Stewart is one of my most favorite punches - I use it lots!! And of course most of you recognize the sweet girl as one of the many from Magnolia - I do think she is one of the newer ones this spring.

Maybe this fits in some challenge somewhere but not one I could find today so sharing it just for fun!!! It is for a good friend for her birthday and we are going out tonight so unless she is blog hopping at work she should not see it until she gets it tonight!!! :) There are four of us who get together every now and then to play and card make together so the image is perfect!!
The stamp is from Art Impressions and you can order them from Scrapbooker's Paradise online store - there are quite a few images and they are a panic!!

The papers are a mix from some of the 6x6 pads from My Minds Eye and the flowers are from a new Spellbinder die that I quite like!!!

Entry #3 - Easter & Spring - 7 Kids College Fund

One more adorable image from Stampavie and yes available at 7 Kids College Fund store online! The papers I used are from My Minds Eye - love their papers!! I distressed them with Tim Holtz distress inks - love doing that to change the color of plain pattern paper like script or music notes. After coloring just the bunny and before any other coloring add some copic blender solution to a cloth and dab the image and you get this great "fur" like effect!! This bunny really looks like he has "googly" eyes with the glossy accents added when coloring is all done!!
Copic colors used: E31, 41, 50, 51 and R00, 20 and YG91, 93 and BG10, 32.

I love these bunnies from Stampavie which you can of course purchase at 7 Kids College Fund from the awesome Tabitha!! The paper I used is from Pebbles. I cut the background for the image with one of the fun Spellbinder dies!! After coloring the image I added some fun flock to their tales to make them fuzzy and black glaze pen to the eyes and cute noses to make them stand out.
Copic colors used: C0,2,4 and R00, 01, 81, 83, 85 and YG23, 63 and BG0000, 000, 10, 32, 34.

Fun to be able to use some cards I had to make for a class recently and enter them in a challenge! It has been so long since I was on here entering challenges so very glad to have cards to use :)
This cute image is from Stampavie and I loved coloring this cute chick. The pattern paper is from Echo Park. The leaves were cut from a Martha Stewart border punch - good size for cards!! The flower is from Prima and airbrushed with my copics!! The swirl is from Tim Holtz - love this die cut!!
Copic colors used: Y21, 23, 26 and YR12 and R02 and Eooo, 01 and RV10, 32 and YG23, 91, 93 and V15, 91 and BG0000

My good friend Sherie (check out her blog at Card Creme) invited me to join her at a show in Edmonton on the weekend and what a treat that was for me!! I got to meet so many wonderful people and enjoyed a great weekend with a good friend, who is my copic mentor!!!

Here are some new friends, Sean from My Mind's Eye - they have a blog you can check out too(and now I feel silly as I can not remember this wonderful girl's name ... but I am going to see her again soon - so will let you know - sorry). LOVE thier papers!!!

These fun people are Julie and Lindsay from Cosmo Cricket - shared some good laughs with them and enjoyed getting to know them for sure!! Their new papers will be here soon in store and look forward to that!!

This is Jody from Echo Park and I think in the next set of classes I am teaching that about 70% of my cards are using their papers - so nice to meet him!!

And drum roll please.......... I did get to meet Tim and talk with him and watch him teach ....and all I can say is what a NICE man!!!! Not only is he so very talented, he is also so approachable and warm!! I did get to meet Mario too and again - what a NICE man!! Thanks for sharing who you are with someone who loves to use your product. You should check out all the new products coming of Tim's and follow his blog as you always learn new things!! (yes as you can see I was able to get my photo with him with the frame I had so much fun doing with his 12 Tags of Christmas!!

So an awesome weekend of being with Sherie and meeting new friends, who are the wonderful people who help to provide so many of the awesome products that I get to use as I play!! Lily of the Valley Sketch Challenge

Oh so much fun!!! I do love the images from Lily of the Valley the stamps are so cute and such fun to color with copics. This was a sketch challenge and I do always enjoy those. I did add the close up photo so that maybe you could see the Stickles on her socks, the dotted gift and the littel doohickeys from her headband ....did not know what to call them :)

This was a bit more fun as I made it for one of my favorite nieces for her birthday coming up and got to make it on my birthday - so fun to have time today to do that!!

The paper is from Cosmo Cricket the "Delovely" 6x6 pad (love those for cards). I used a McGill punch for the leaves behind the flowers from various companies. Some Bo Bunny pearls to add some bling - always good. Copic colors used are: BG10,11, 13, 23 and RV00, 02, 04, 10 and

E21, 30, 31, 50, 51.

So for my "heart" card I used Dinner Tilda from Magnolia stamps and the great paper is from Kaisercraft the "English Rose Collection" - love the 6' paper pads for cards! I used the Spellbinder dies for the hearts. A little Tim Holtz for the tag, some flowers and some bling from various companies.

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge - "Hearts"

Fun card to make and love all "the love" shown by the DT team with all the fun cards with "hearts' on them - follow the link by clicking on the title of this post and see what they have done!! It was good to pull out my House Mouse stamps and see which one I could use for this challenge. The papers are from Bo Bunny the "Crazy Love" collection, the sentiment is from a MFT set and the singing mouse is "Singing in the Rain" (who would have guessed that ...??) I used Spellbinders to cut the scalloped heart and the little ones are Marvy punches. The edge punch is from Martha Stewart. A bit of bling, some ribbon and some Glossy Accents from Ranger to add depth to the rain drops add some fun. Yes I colored the image with a few of my copics!!! Fussy and fancy Friday Challenge - A Valentine Card with No Red and No Pink!!

Oh my goodness ... a rare card for me with no copics used!!! Fun to think a very "male" type Valentine's card but fun because when my husband saw the card I made the other day (previous post) for my brother for his birthday - his comment was "I want that card". So thanks for a challenge that got me thinking ahead of time of what kind of card to make my wonderful man!!

Okay lots of Tim Holtz inks and dies used for this one - the bird cage, the heart with wings, the flourish all his awesome dies cut on my Vagabond (that would be my wonderful husband who hunted it down on ebay for me for Christmas!! The papers are from Kaiser "Le Chateau Collection". Some bling even for a guy card is fun to do!! I used a music background stamp on the heart and a script background stamp for the bird cage.

The sentiment is made up on the computer and suits my guy for sure - this is a second marriage after being through some deep hurts and he has definitely unlocked my heart and let it soar!!

Our Daily Bread Challenge - "The Blues"

Thanks for the fun challenge today!! The challenge was to make a card with lots of blue :)!! And as it is snowing here today and my brother's birthday is coming up ... thought I know just what I want to do for him. You see my brother helps with worship at a church in Denver so this great set from Our Daily Bread called "You will find Refuge" was perfect for him! I had fun teaming up so many wonderful products from Tim Holtz (his great distress inks, the Iron Gate edge die, and the Caged Bird die) to make this card. I did use some of my copics very lightly to color the bird and cut it out and then popped it up. I used a Spellbinder die and stamped it with a music background stamp and inked it up with distress inks to put the bird on. Now if you see the image up close you see a little key chain that says "home sweet home" .... okay a few artistic meanings here - one the bird is not caged just as we are not but can choose to be at home with God and sing to Him - two sometimes we wander away from that friendship with God and then we come back and what a sweet home that is!! Okay a little rambling there - hope you don't mind. The paper is from Bo Bunny the "Mama-Razzi" line.

Lily of the Valley Challenge - Anything But a Square

Fun challenge to do!! I cut the shape for my card with my Cricut using the Elegant Cake cartridge and welded the two shapes together with Design Studio. The paper is from a mini pad by My Mind's Eye called "tickled pink". The image of course is Lily of the Valley (they are all so cute!!!) and the sentiment is from a MFT set. I love that the one little girl is more "flamboyant" than the other one but they are good friends!! Yes of course I colored with my copics but I am not listing them all cause I used a "bunch" for these girls!! Thanks for the challenge!! :)

All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge - Let it Snow

Wow - I have not blogged since before Christmas... anyone miss me?? It was not only Christmas that kept me away from my blog for a time, but unfortunately my mother-in-law has not been doing well since the first day of the year ... so she is a priority and blogging not as much. She is out of hospital but still not doing great but since she is home my days are a bit more regular again.

So needless to say when I saw the challenge and had already colored this sweet Sarah Kay stamp and had not made her into a card ... and seeing as it is to snow again tomorrow ... thanks for the challenge ladies!!!! I am sure I know a friend who could use some "warm thoughts".

12 Tags of Christmas - DONE!!

Well here I am again ....busy 12 days as for the first time I did the 12 tags with Tim Holtz and what FUN that has been!!! I have learned so much in the last 12 days - WOW!! And then today in my advent calendar box the note from my wonderful husband that said "if I could give you a display of my affection you could tag it however you feel, either that or I am sure you could puzzle it out" and there by the Christmas puzzle on the dining room table was a frame for my tags so they can be displayed!! Thanks Rick and thank you Tim for sharing your genius with us crafters!! If you have not looked at his tags click on his name and see :)

Just in Honor of Tim Holtz and Distressing Fun

Well I know that I am not the only one who is excited to see what Tim Holtz has on his blog tomorrow as the 12 Tags of Christmas begins!! ....so I decided to share with you some fun I have been having with his dies and inks and a mixture of stamps. I love creating this look as it turns out different each time even using the same inks - so thanks for the inspiration Tim and I look forward to learning some new techniques and having fun the next 12 days!!!! I sure have had fun with the snowman die :)!!!!

Mojo Monday Fun

I changed the sketch just a bit but still followed the elements that were required... I think :) It was a great sketch and fun to work with - thanks!! The image is from Stampaive by Sarah Kay (definitely one of my favorite stamp lines for sure!) The pattern paper is Bo Bunny's new Valentine's line called "Crazy Love" (love pink and brown together). And of course the help of Spellbinders and Cuttlebug for some shapes to use!! I distressed with Vintage Photo and Spun Sugar by Tim Holtz (yeah 12 tags start tomorrow on his blog)
Copics that were used: RV10,13 and E000,00,30,31,33,35,37,39 and YR0000 around the image.

Christmas with No Red or Green by Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge

Always fun when you see that you have a card waiting in the wings at the right time :) I had designed this for a class that I taught recently and had fun with it as it was different colors to use for Christmas and then fun to vintage it up some!! I love the images from Stampavie and this girl so reminds me of "Holly Hobby" when my daughter who is now grown was young!! (dating myself). I think I can get this card in on another challenge as well at Wild Orchid for the Old Fashioned Christmas or Vintage card Challenge so that is a bonus too!! What a good day to be back blogging and then I get to have Bible study with good friends :)

Wow - you know as a blogger that you have been too busy when you have not blogged for a few weeks!!!! So yeah I am back again and in the midst of Christmas things to do I want to take time and relax and make cards for fun!!! So thanks for the challenge and the motivation to get going again!
So what did I use for this card:

Lily of the Valley Challenge - "For the Girls"

How fun to just make a card that is "girly" - thanks for the fun challenge!! I am counting the days until I can order the new release stamps from Lily of the Valley!!! I am loving my flourish die from Tim Holtz it comes in handy so many times :). The pattern papers are from Imaginisce and SEI. I added some flock to her fur on the hat makes it fuzzy to touch! The small snowflakes are an old punch from Marvy and of course some Spellbinders!

Copic colors used: RV11,32,34 and BG10,11,72 and E50 and E30,31 and BG0000 and G20 and YG63 and a touch of R05 for her cheeks.

Stamping in Time Challenge - Embellishments

So my favorite embellishment ...... I love using flowers and love adding rhinestones when I can (and many other things too) - but for today I will say flowers are my favorite :) The paper is from Basic Grey the Capella line, the flourish is cut with Tim Holtz's die cut, the flowers are from Prima and the rhinestones and pearls are Kaiser. Now the stamp set that I used from Our Daily Bread is called "You will find refuge". This card was a request from a friend for her daughter's birthday and it just right as she is one of the worship leaders at our church - so her mom wanted something spiritual and to do with music - I sure hope she likes it!!

Birthday Wish for a Little Boy

Almost too late getting this in ... but oh well the sketch was fun and a friend had asked for a birthday card for her grandson, so I thought I would use this cute boy and do double duty making the card and getting in on the challenge :)!! The pattern papers are older ones from Bo Bunny, lots of buttons from Basic Grey and the help of Spellbinders and of course my copics and this should be a card she is happy to give.

Having fun with the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge and also taking part in the Friday Sketcher's challenge with this card! I love the Sarah kay stamps from Stampavie that you can purchase from one of my fav online stores 7 Kids College Fund ( a great store). The paper is a mix of Crate, Memory Box, Echo Park and Bazzill. I lpove using the Tim Holtz flourish die cut - just comes in very handy!! And who can do cards with out the use of Spellbinder dies?? - NOT ME!! And yes of course I colored with my copics :) And for a little girl I used quite a few markers so not going to list them all this time (if you want the color choices just let me know) Thanks for the fun challeges to play with!!!

Christmas Teddy

I had just made this the other day and turns out that it qualifies for a couple of different challenges that are going on - bonus!!! The adorable bear is from All That Scraps online store and it is "Milton with Stocking" from Wild Rose Studio. After coloring him I dabbed a cut up cloth with copic blending solution to make him look fuzzy and then added flocking to his stocking so it feels fuzzy :). The snowflakes were cut from a few different punches and Spellbinder dies and then added some glitter to some of them. The pattern paper is from Imaginisce "Christmas Cottage" line.
Copic colors used: R24,27,29 and YG63,67 and E30,31,33,35 and W2,4

Lily of the Valley Challenge - Winter Fun

With some snow on the ground when I headed to the gym bright and early this morning here in Calgary it was easy to feel like putting on the finishing touches of this card today for the fun "Winter Fun" challenge!! Now the pattern papers that I used were bits an pieces I had in my Christmas box from last year and maybe even the year before...... so not too helpful in telling you what those are :). The snowflakes were from a Martha Stewart punch with some pearls added to the center of them for fun. Some rhinestones for a bit more bling and some pearls added to the ribbon (I liked that), a "Merry Christmas" from Artful Stamper and fun copic coloring with stickles added at the end and on a new Spellbinders "Lacy Squares" and there you have it "Winter Fun" for sure!! Thanks for the great challenge using these adorable stamps :)

Well hello bloggers!! If I figure it all out okay this card will be part of a few challenges...so we will see how computer savvy I can be today :)!! The layout for this card is from the Friday Sketcher's Challenge and then I saw as I was checking out Betty's blog that this card could also be part of the Halloween Color Challenge at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - and then I saw that is also fits in the challenge on one of my favorite places to look and shop on line at 7 Kids College fund blog as the challenge is "flowers and layers" - so what fun is all of that - let me tell you very fun and it all started with the challenge from Stampavie to use "spooky colors" this time around!! The stamp I used is "Chloe watching the trees in the autumn wind" from Stampavie by Sarah Kay (one of my favorites for sure). The pattern papers are from EP (Echo Park) the Happy Halloween line. I put my Spellbinder new Lacy Oval die to use and also the flourish die from Tim Holtz for the swirls, a few Prima flowers and some rhinestones and of course my copic markers for coloring and there you go!!

Well another first challenge to enter .... I am thinking there are an endless amount of challenges that I have never entered and will never get the time to enter ... but it is always fun to find a new one and give it a go :) So this was a great layout challenge and since I love layers this was extra fun for me and then I also got to color with my copics so all is well!!! The pattern papers that I used were from my scrap box so no idea which company they were from.
Copic colors that were used: R05,30,32 and BG10,32,34,72 and Y21,26,28 with some E30 for her hair and E50,51 for skin tones.

Friday Sketcher's Challenge #124

Well it felt a bit like Christmas here in Calgary today for a few hours...as there were little white flakes falling on the city for a bit today.(and yesterday it was 23 celsius and today 4....) Okay now all you Americans can go figure out what the temperature really was here in Calgary :)

Anyways this was a fun challenge and always fun to color with my copics and always fun to use a Sarah Kay stamp from Stampavie!! I made good use of my Spellbinders for this challenge for the image and also for the tag which is slipped in behind the image - I made mine so that it can be pulled out and you can see that on the bottom photo. I also used my Spellbinders for the little tree and ran it through the Cuttlebug to emboss it and make it look more "tree like". The pattern paper is from Basic Grey's "Jovial" line. After I colored the image I distressed all around it with Tim Holtz's "Antique Linen" ink and I also edged the sentiment on the tag with the same ink. The edge of the tag I used the distress tool from Tim Holtz and edged the red with Vintage Photo ink ...so this card has some cutesy and some vintage married together ... I like it. Our Daily Bread Challenge

Well this is a new challenge for me to enter - so that was fun. And it was fun to do a challenge with embossing powders being the main element :) So what I did was to stamp the flourish first and emboss it with clear embossing powder from Tsukineko and then I stamped the sentiment both of which are from Our Daily Bread stamps I then covered the whole scalloped paper with Versamark ink and used Whispers - Holographic embossing powder on it and got this soft and and glittery covering!! Add some pretty papers from Crafty Secrets and some flowers from Prima, some lace ribbon and a few butterflies and I think it became a very feminie looking card.

Secret Crafter's Saturday Challenge - Distressing

This is fun and challenging for me.... if you follow my blog at all you have noticed that "copics and kind of cutesy" are more of what I do. But I am trying to learn new things (and they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks - HA!!) - I laugh at those who say that :). Okay enough of my rambling I have been having fun getting addicted to Tim Holtz products too ( my friend Kate says YEAH!!) So when I saw the challenge for distressing I thought ... I can do that. So here it is.

The image stamp is Tim Holtz, the phrase is from a Verve set and I like them together. The paper is from a great 6x6 pack from Kaiser called Secret Bird Society. I love the small pads and have a few (she says quietly) on my shelf!! Thanks for the challenge!!

Mojo Monday

Well it has been a few days since I got something new up here. I decided to go with the layout challenge at Mojo Monday to get my creative ideas flowing. The stamp is a new one from Stampendous and very fun to color and add some glitter to. I decided it that with the papers from the Basic Grey, "Jovial" line that distressing both the image paper and the pattern paper just made good sense to get the "right" look!! I used Shabby Shutters around the image from Tim Holtz and Dew Drop, Hint of Pesto on the patterned paper and other cardstock. I colored the ribbon with my copics to get the right color - got to love that!!
Copic colors used were: YG91, 93, 95 and Y00, 21, 33 and E07, 09, 15, 39
Fun getting some Christmas done early (this card will be part of the fun class at my place in October)

All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge

Great sketch from the ladies at All That Scraps!! I decided to use one of the stamps that is sold in the All That Scraps on line store, from My Favorite Things and used a sentiment from C.C. Designs Christmas sentiment pack. The pattern papers are new from Bo Bunny this year called "Winter Joy" (love Bo Bunny papers) and what fun to make a Christmas card with different colors!! I embossed the white strip with the snowflake emobssing folder from Cuttlebug and scalloped the edge with an EK Success punch. Spellbinders were used for the image one of the scalloped rectangles and also used the scalloped circle die for the circle. I added diamond stickles to the snowflakes by the image and turquoise stickles for her buttons. Some sparkly snowflakes that I have had for awhile and some rhinestones for bling add to the fun!! If I keep making Christmas cards maybe I will be ahead this year.... :)

7 Kids Challenge #4 (....hmm feeling like fall!!)

What fun ... not too hard to be inspired to make a fall type card here in Calgary when it is only 5 Celsius and raining today. And what is more fall than "apple picking". This was a fun sketch to work with and you need to see all the great cards that their Design team made - wow!! When I saw the Apple Cider line of paper from Imaginisce this fall and knew that I already had the "Apple Emma" stamp from C.C. Designs which you can buy at the 7 Kids online store ...well it was a match for sure!! I cut the shape behind her with my Cricut and the Cindy Lou cartridge (it is great). I stamped the fence (also a C.C. design stamp) on the white circle and colored with mu copics, then I colored her and very carefully cut her out (not for when you need to make a card in a hurry). I did the sentiment with my computer so it said just what I wanted. I had fun and maybe this gives you some ideas too.

Dare to Be Sassy Thursday

This was a good challenge when I could finally got the time to do it ... hmm maybe I need to "go ahead and put my feet up". The challenge was to make a card that was a get well card - thinking of you type card .... well I have lots of friends and I know there are so many women out there who need to take a break and know that it is okay to be put their feet up when they are sick and when they just need a rest!! So this was made with all of you in mind!! (and sometimes female cards don't need to be all "girly" looking). Yeah for Spellbinder dies and my cuttlebug for some shapes and texture for this card and thank you to my faithful copic markers that always make coloring fun!!

House Mouse Challenge #78

What a fun challenge..... now if you have read about this challenge then you know that it is a sketch and also it is their celebration... NOW before you decide that this card has nothing to do with celebrating let me explain two reasons that it does. 1) there is nothing better to celebrate than a friend you can relax with and 2) after you have celebrated you have a friend to crash with!! So see it has lots to do with "celebrating". (that is my story and I am sticking to it) :)

And my count on the cheese was .... nice try you have to count them yourself ... LOL!!!

The papers I used are older Kasier papers, the flowers are from Prima. I am pretty sure that the sentiment stamp is from C.C. Designs and of course colored with copics ...but it was colored awhile back and patiently waiting to be made into a card and I did not write down the colors I used...sorry. I added some "stickles" to the flowers for a bit more bling. Hope you enjoy it.
